When I saw this episode, I could not wait to try it and it did not disappoint!!
We are vegans, so I veganized it by using 3 bags of Morning Start chicken strips - sauteed them with the red onion till light brown and crispy and then added some bbq sauce and simmered for a bit. Used Vegenaise instead of mayo and vegan egg roll wrappers. I also used the cornstarch and water trick mentioned in an earlier review to seal them, and they came out great!!
Fast to make, satisfying and very filling!!

Totally Southern twist on eggrolls. Pulled Pork and Cabbage ! Yahoo!. I have been making eggrolls for years. Springrolls, wontons, lumpia. You can vary what you put in the eggroll but I love the classic of pork and cabbage. If you do the hamburger meat, then add some powder ginger / or fresh to the mix. If you use raw meat,a test trick is to get a small teaspoon onto a plate and microwave the meat for about 30 seconds to see if you like the flavor. I LOVE LOVE GUY. KEEP THEM COMING

The pulled pork was very tasty. I normally don't care for pulled pork, but my husband does and he felt this one of the best he's had. The cole slaw's crunch was very tasty as well. One recommendation would be that when Guy states don't let the egg rolls touch the pan's bottom, he means it. I used a deep fryer and thought it wouldn't be an issue. I put the egg rolls into the basket, thinking of course, they won't touch the bottom. They did however touch the bottom of the basket and they ripped. So beware of that issue. The way I mitigated that problem after the first batch was to spray pam on the bottom of the basket once it came out and then I played with it to get it out rather than just grabbing them from the basket.

Ok, so I tried this tonight, the time was no big deal i got a of and hour nap...lol, the slaw mix to time at all , I bought a huge thing of meat and had about 3.5lbs. I made all of it, I had plenty for the Pork Egg Roll Mix and extra for dinner. I made the mix and made my rolls only to snack on a few then freeze about 15 for a later night. ( I love jap/chinesse style foods, i.e guy's bbq pork fried rice perfect accompaniment then there was so much amazing meat i did a memphis style bbq dinner with loaded mashed potatoes, corn salad, roasted aparagus bundled and tied off with a scallion ( i roasted it along with the asp. makes a pretty, and edible tie off. And it had so many interesting componets and color my family and NO COMPLAINTS!!! YIPPY, moms out there, you know, there is always something thats not "good" I just love this whole thing, and to do it under 10 bucks... definetly a buget friendly recipe for just the meat its self. Awesome and is HIGHLY recommended.

-Honestly, I have not attempted this dish yet, but I will soon. I did not want to list "0" stars, so I placed a "5", as not to drop the rating... but this sounds excellent and it's just what I need at my next Rock-N-"Roll" party! (so I'm hoping the other reviews are correct. Try a party like this... my Rock-N-"Roll" party only serves food in the form of "egg rolls"... ranging from Asian to Mexican, Southern BBQ to German, Itailian to Jamaican Jerk, etc... and don't forget desserts... it's a blast! You can really put anything into an egg roll. Hope this idea inspires anyone who sees it. Wishing you good eats. - Rosie & family.
