I was blown away by this recipe, I really dont even like chicken but these flavors were undeniable!! I served it over a bed of spanish rice instead of making it into a sandwhich and used my leftovers to make a mexican chicken salad. Also, be sure to make the fried bell peppers, they were a perfect and unique complement to the dish that should not be missed!

OMG what a wonderful sandwich - will make it again and again. Hubby and I agreed it was one of the very best sandwiches we'd ever had. Followed recipe exactly. LOVED the red peppers - didn't have roasted ones so i just thinly sliced fresh red pepper and fried it per instructions - came out WONDERFUL. Only complaint - we wanted more red peppers! What a garnish - don't skip it.

BTW: We don't drink alcohol - let alone tequila, but I bought a tiny bottle at liquor store and it was fine in this recipe. Didn't taste strong or overwhelm us - hubby didn't even know it was in there until I told him (he picks up on the taste of wine in sauces, etc.

WARNING: Marinade came into contact with bare skin (hands and burns something fierce. If you work with hot peppers all the time you probably knew this. For those of us that aren't accustomed to working with large amounts of peppers - BE WARNED. I tried every remedy that came up on google and only soaking in ice water off and on for hours relieved it. Lesson learned! OUCH.

This chicken was very tasty and had a spicy kick to it...AWESOME!! I marinated chicken tenderloins instead of breast and the chicken was super moist and much easier to eat on a sandwich. Even left over and cold, this is a delicious recipe!

The chicken was awesome. It did have a little kick to it but didnt mind. Followed the recipe as it says but did not serve it as a sandwich. I served it over rice and black beans along with the friend bell peppers and jalapenos for my husband with a squeeze of lemon. I ate it over a salad and thought it was delish.
    Will definitely make again!!

My friend suggested this recipe to me and she was right. I have now made them twice and they were great both times. I would not change a thing in the recipe.

I read all of the reviews and hasn't anyone noticed that the recipe calls for boneless skinless chicken breast, and the instructions are to remove or shred the chicken off the bone?

I have prepared more than 100 Food Network recipes and this is the first I made by Guy. I didn't know what I was missing! Absolutely fabulous!!! Luckily, I doubled the chicken and have it waiting in the freezer for another night. I can't wait! Be sure to make the stuffed poblanos as well, perfect pairing.

I have nearly all these ingredients on hand, so I tried this recipe. We all loved it and wouldn't change a thing! My teenagers were begging me to make it again the next day! It has definitely qualified to be in the dinnertime rotation! Thanks!
