I made the entire episode-chicken, stuffed chilis and the drink. All were fantastic. I suggest using prebottled watermelon juice if you are making more than 1 drink. It took a whole watermelon to yeild enough juice for two drinks.

If you like spicy, full flavored food, you will love this recipe. We didn't bother with the sandwich

I enjoyed this recipe a lot but i did make some substitutions. I will explain all the differences i made. First i put all ingredients and blended them in a blender. I replaced the jalapeno with a chipotle in adobe (smoke jalapeno. I didn't have dried oregeno so i used fresh from my garden. I also had some wonderful chives growing so i added some chives to the blender too. I didn't have 4 hours (after work only a couple hours so i took out the food saver container and put them marinade and chicken in there. When you vacuum pack things the marinade time is reduced dramatically. Oh ya he recommended expensive tequila which i TOTALLY feel is uncessary. You will be just waisting money. I don't even think you can tell the difference when you use expensive stuff in margaritas just as long as a marinade. I had patron tequilla (expensive and cheaper stuff and i opted to use the cheaper stuff.

Ok now for cooking. I boiled the marinade after i took the chicken out and basted the chicken while it was cooking on the weber charcoal. I would not recommend using it for a dipping sauce because hey its chicken but with the heat of the grill i was not worried.

My toppings were also quite different. I took the chicken off the grill and added roasted new mexican chile from the garden, fresh tomato, turkey bacon, cilantro, Sharp Cheeder cheese, and avacodo cream. I then put it in a panini press. It was out of this word and im making it tomorrow :.

Thoughts i do think using a chipotle made a big difference (chipotle are one of my favorite ingrediants. If you cant find chipotle you can either order them off the internet or maybe use jalapenos and a little liquid smoke. I would still rather have chipotle if you can find them.

What i might do next time is flatten the chicken to make an excellent panini.

I was so excited to make this recipe. Marinaded chicken for 6 hours. The marinade smelled OUTSTANDING before it was put on the grill. But after biting into it, I found it to not have as much heat as I would have liked from peppers. I followed recipe exactly, so next time I might step up the kind of pepper I use. I wished it just had more "kick" to it.

I served these tasty sandwiches for my last family get-together and they were gone in a snap! I used a jar of roasted red peppers to save time and skipped marinating them with the chicken. I also left out the cabbage because we're not big fans of cabbage. They were delicious!! I'm marinating some now for dinner tonight.

Tried this dish. My husband and son couldn't stop raving about the smell, taste and how juicy the chicken was. I definately recommend this recipe and will make this often. P.S. I used serrano chiles instead to heat it up a little more. Loved it!

I made the Red Rocker Margarita Chicken. Since I don't drink I had to go and get a airline sized tequilla which was just about enough for the recipe. I did not use the roasted red peppers nor the cabbage. We used huge hard rolls from our local bakery and it was wonderful!

We watched Guy make this on his show and thought it sounded interesting - especially with the fried red peppers! This chicken dish is packed with flavor and has just a touch of spice! We loved it! We also fried the jalapeno rings along with the red peppers...those were so good too! My husband is a red meat kind of guy but I like to eat chicken since it is healthier...this meal satisfied both of us! It was a hit with me AND him!

Great taste but if you would like less heat, remember to seed your jalapenos!
