I made these the other night for dinner and they were a huge hit with the hubby. I didn't make the onions, and I served them on big hamburger buns. My honey ate 2, with the leftovers I made a goulash and it too was a great meal, got 2 for one: This will be my go to sloppy joe recipe!

These were awesome! My husband loved them. Way better than the canned sauce. I only used ground beef as I didn't have any ground pork. I will definitely make again.

AWESOME. I tried this recipe for dinner instead of my usual one. My 10yr old son and I loved them. Mother and son Sloppy Joe Wednesday was born! I use turkey instead of pork and only red peppers. I find that if I measure everything out at once and set it out then it makes it faster and easy, because there are a lot of ingredients. I have to restrain myself not to eat all the onion straws while I am cooking them and save them for the meal. Top with cheese and dinner is served!------p.s. I started making these a year ago and the Joes haven't got old yet!

There was a lot of chopping going on with the recipe, but it was really good. Almost addictive good.

Made this for football sunday. Added an extra lb. of ground beef, so I also used 1/3 extra of the sauce ingredients (for example, calls for 1 tsp cayenne, I added 1 and a 1/3 tsp, and very large veggies, plus extra garlic. The vinegar and brown sugar combine to compliment but also tone down the spice; had a couple professed "heat-haters" who loved the sweet and spicy mouthfeel so much, they asked for the recipe.

These are simply awesome! I have served them to serveral tailgate crowds and they are loved by all. It won't hurt to make extra onion straws. They tend to get stolen and eaten on the side.

Overall very good, although I prefer using all beef rather than half pork, and they were a little too spicy for my taste.
