Very yummie! I modified a bit. I only used the ground beef because that's what I had. I added a little more wine : I didn't make the onion straws. I bought the ones at the store. I don't think you need them. The sloppy joes has so much flavor that they're not needed. Next time, I will use the pork.

This is a great recipe. I didn't have time to make the onion straws this time. Next time i definitely want to make those as well. I thought this recipe was very easy to make and i already had most of these ingredients at home.

Husband & child were not thrilled I was making sloppy joes. They are now home made sloppy joe fans! I put the veggies in the food processor and pulsed a few times to get the veggies finer and make them look meatier then they are. They loved the onion straws as well. Paired this with salad and minestrone soup.

The family enjoyed it...especially the onion straws. However, with time it takes and long list of ingredients it just isn't worth the added effort...it really didn't that "wow" factor. I will continue using the 'ole French's packet and maybe adding a few extra seasonings from this recipe to zip it up a bit.

I didn't make the Onion Straws as I was looking for a more simple one dish meal with easy cleanup for a weeknight meal. This one delivers. If you like Sloppy Joes you will never go back to the canned version after having this. Great depth of flavor. We love this one!

It's really, really, good! Delicious! A keeper. I used Jimmy Dean 'regular' sausage for the pork sausage. I used a yellow bell pepper instead of the green bell pepper. And, I used a lean ground beef for the beef. I also used an organic tomato sauce for the tomato sauce, a medium jalapeno for the jalapeno--I'll use a small one next time--and a good tasting pinot noir for the wine. Burgundy would have worked too. Yum!

This is a great sloppy joe. A big hit with family and friends all so this is good over a good hot dog.

I have never been a big fan of Sloppy Joes. They have always been way too sweet for my taste. However I tried these last night just for something different. It was great! The sweetness is still there, but it finishes with a little heat. My husband loved it too!
