Is there anything Guy can't do. I made this recipe after years of my wife buying the can mix. My whole family ate it all. That's all they talk about. Now every gathering I have to make it. You rock. Keep the recipes coming and enjoy all your shows.

I made a 1.5 batch of these and they turned out fantastic. I will definitely be making them again for the Super Bowl, probably a double batch or more. Couple of thoughts though, I'm assuming the 1/4 cup of oil is a typo, if not that's an absurd amount of oil just to sweat down a couple of peppers and an onion. I just used a tablespoon or two like I normally would. And the other thing is when the recipe says it will make 24 they are talking about bite size sandwiches so if you're desiring normal sized Joe's you might want to make 3 or 4 lbs. of meat.

Wow, so, so good. I've never even HAD sloppy joes before, much less made them, but I love trying and making new things, so I thought I'd give this a try. We were not disappointed! I only used one pound of very lean ground beef, so I halved all the ingredients except for the garlic and jalapenos since we always like a bit extra. I also used apple cider vinegar since I didn't have red wine vinegar but I thought it added a sweeter taste, and will use again next time. I also was lazy about making the fried onions and just used the canned variety (I know, so bad!, but next time I will make them since it was soooo good! A side note, my husband grew up eating the canned variety of sloppy joes, and he LOVED these so much more! This recipe is a winner!

I beg you to take the time to make these sloppy joes. They have just the right amount of kick and super flavorful. I didn't have any cayene, but that didn't matter. Never make ketchup sloppy joes again. Thanks!

I made the sloppy joes tonight for dinner and they turned out pretty good! I did double the amount of ingredients for the sauce because I thought it was a little dry with what the recipe called for (I wanted my sloppy joes to be SLOPPY. I saw that Guy said to add water to loosen up the sauce, but I used ground turkey instead of beef, so I thought using water would make it too bland. But they turned out great. My husband, who says he hates sloppy joes, ate two big ones and said he really liked it! I even let my 9mo old son try a little and he loved it too! I will definitly be making these again! So easy and very tasty!

I haven't had sloppy joes since I was a kid, and they definitely came out of a can. Guy's recipe rocks! I reduced the amount of cayenne pepper, and it was delicious. The onions were worth making too.

everytime I make these everyone raves about them. the maui straws are a bonus touch that even more flavor. if you lightly toast the hawaiin bread it carmalizes the sugar in the bread.
