They were easy to make and so good. Yes, the onion straws are a little messy to make but worth the effort. The sloppy Joes were just soooo good. Everybody loved them.

These are great. We now make 'em once a month. Variety of ingredients gives that familiar taste improved with fresh vegetables and greater depth of flavor. If you like sloppy joe's and don't mind a little heat, you will love these. Be sure to get the Hawaiian rolls and make the onion straws

I have to say I absolutely hate putting in time to make whats supposed to be a good recipe and it turns out tasting like garbage. First of all, this sloppy joe is more like a chili than a sloppy joe. It was way too spicy and my husband who loves spicy food did not like it at all, nevermind that my 5 year old wouldn't even touch it. And then the onion straws...I followed the recipe exactly and the flour did not stick to the onions and I wound up trashing the onion rings.
Guy, you are so off my list of chefs to watch!

I typically love sloppy joes because they are somewhat healthy. You get your meat and your veggies. Nice. But with this one, I could not believe the amount of oil. My husband made it so I guess I wasn't aware that it called for 1/4 of canola oil. That is just an insane amount and is totally not necessary. Oil should only be used to prevent sticking and a little flavor. This was just way too much. I would highly recommend using less. It makes the sandwich far far too rich with all of that wine too. It would taste much better with less. Not too mention the fact that by using the full amount you are adding 112 grams of fat to this meal. I am a pretty healthy eater so it was not something I enjoyed. Like I said, it would taste just as good with 2 T of oil like most recipes call for. Other than this fact, I would love the recipe. I am going to make it again, myself, and not put that much oil in. It would be perfect.

I made this for my husband & I & we loved it. I ended up with quite a bit of it leftover & after adding some rice to it this made some killer stuffed peppers!

My family LOVES these!!! We use the Hawaii bread for the rolls. They can't seem to get enough. I use a little less tomato sauce, but other than that, wouldn't change a thing! They're easy to do and a big crowd pleaser!!!

Too much tomato, tasted just like Manwhich out of a can. Lucky I already had all of the ingredients as I cook all the time. Anyway, I think Guy has the best personality on the Foodnetwork. He is great.

I served these for Super Bowl and they were a huge hit. I used the Hawaiian rolls and thought the sweetness of the bread was a good comliment to the meat mixture. Loved the onion straws and have made them by themselves a couple of times. The onions really add a nuce crunchy texture to the sandwiches. This is a meal the whole family enjoyed.
