    I thought this one was really different. I was pleased to have something other than the same old mashed potatoes. Great job Guy.

    In Holland (my husband's birthplace they call these mashed potatoes recipes STAMPOT. They do the mashed potatoes with kale, saussage, carrots, onions, or a combination of these or/and other vegetables of the season.
    This is a latinamerican or puertorrican (like me style of mashed potatoes with the use of the sofrito. Great idea ! Also, you can omit the tomato sauce, use milk, instead of the cream, add bacon or salted pork and let your imagination run. The wine in the sofrito is an example of that great imagination. BRAVO, Guy! MUY DELICIOSO!

    Love these mashed potatoes. Made it with the Cuban pork chops, and it was great!. I this this is the best mashed potato recipe I've ever made. I used evaporated milk instead of cream, and might use regular milk next time to make it a lil' bit healthier :. Oh and also didn't have tomato sauce, so I diluted some tomato paste and added a little bit of water to the pan, and it was great!

    I saw Guy make these on his show today, and thought I'd try them out! I only had yams on hand, but let me tell you - it still worked VERY well with them! The flavors of the peppers, onion, garlic, and tomatoey-ness.. was just scrumptious. I only used a tiny bit of milk (not cream, since yams are moist on their own, anyway. I will be making this over and over again! Sofrito - rocks! Guy, thank you for this recipe - I'm new to trying your recipes (the rockstar ravioli was amazing, and I have not been let down yet!

    I watched the segment, then logged on and got the recipe...ROCKSTAR easy and I added roasted garlic in the mix and finished with a cilantro garnish!
