I have made steak Diane several times before in the past, but not like this. This recipe is amazing and by far the best I've ever made. My dinner guests raved about this steak. Thanks Guy!!!

Just as I always do when I make something for the first time, I followed this recipe EXACTLY as written. It was flawless and extraordinarily easy to make! The sauce was probably the best I've ever had. I can definitely see why some may be tempted to add a splash of cream but I really don't think it needs it or any doctoring whatsoever. Next time I make open-faced roast beef sandwiches, this is the sauce I'm going to use. It's spectacular!

This was phenomenal! My dad had a cattle ranch for years and thinks any sauce or excessive rub/marinade on steak is sacrilege. But I made this for a dinner party and he asked me to send the recipe to his girl friend so he could eat it more often. I Aldo made the kale beet salad but my own version of mashed potatoes and everyone loved it-the smallest in the party had two filets!!

It was amazing! I made it for my husband for his 64th birthday and he was very impressed. I qued up "When I'm 64" on the record player and put this meal in front of him. Served it with a baked potatoe with the sauce spooned over. He absolutely LOVED it and raved to my son about it! Will prepare again real soon.

Wow! Super easy and delicious. I cooked it a little longer than suggested since I was following my instant-read thermometer, and I plated the steaks at 135 degrees. It was cooked medium-to medium-well so if you like more pink, plate it at about 125. What's great about this dish is even if it's a little overdone, the steaks taste amazing with the rich sauce. I used a blend of shiitake and baby portabella mushrooms since I didn't have Cremini and no one complained. Pair this dish with a highly-rated Cabernet and you won't be disappointed. I suggest this recipe for any guy trying to impress a first-date. Git 'er done!

Very very good... But I added one tbs of tom. paste. Just like the restaurant we used to visit on special occations. Next time no oil, only butter or vs versa...

I prepared this for my son's birthday. My lovely bride in whom I am well pleased gave me the 'chef-of-the-night' award. I don't have tattoos but I felt like Guy. I am a novice so anyone can make this steak with success. I used Tyler Florence's Ultimate Potato Gratin as a side. That too came off perfectly. "Where is my Chefware catalog?"

Simply delicious! I made only minor modifications to this. First, my husband hates mushrooms, but I adore them. So I seared the filets in the butter and olive oil, removed them from the pan, and then tossed in the mushrooms. I let these saute only for a couple of minutes and then removed them from the pan, put them in a bowl and covered the with foil. This allowed the mushrooms to continue cooking. I added more oil & butter and then made the sauce according to the directions, except, I added a small amount of heavy cream. This made the sauce a little richer. I added the mushrooms to my serving and we both enjoyed a fantabulous meal! I will definately make this again!

I made this with some T-Bone steaks instead of the filets, only because that's what I had on hand. I'm not real big on red meat, especially steaks. My husband and I are not real big on mushrooms either. However, this recipe was delicious!
I didn't add the brandy: 1. Because I have never tasted brandy and they say, "if you don't drink it, don't cook with it." and 2. Because I don't drink it, I didn't have any and really didn't want to try it for the first time in my dinner. I did use red wine, because I do drink red wine and used the one I usually drink.
We couldn't even taste the mushrooms and everything blended so well together. I was very suprised my husband liked it as much as he did, he likes very simple foods and is usually the one who makes the steaks and on the grill.
I will definately be making this again for more members of my family!!
