This was delicious!!! I used my own homemade marinara sauce with home canned tomatoes, but it was very similar to the listed recipe. Since I could not find Bresaola at the local supermarket, I substituted pastrami instead, and it was great. Also, since I do not have a stand mixer with a dough hook, I used my bread machine's dough setting to process the pizza dough and that also worked well.

Very good. Made the dough, and it was easy. It baked nicely at 375/400. I really slathered it with butter before putting it into the oven. I used salami, ham and prosciutto for fillings, plus provolone, parmigiano, and fresh mozzarella, and those were great. My family was very happy with this meal. I'll make it again, but I'll change the meat filling. I used to eat strombolis 20 years ago in grad school in upstate NY, never with lunchmeat. Now that I know this recipe works, I will use homemade meatballs next time, or grilled chicken, or grilled flank steak. There are so many more delicious meats than deli meat. What about shaved lamb with feta? Ummm. Be your own chef. Even all veggies would be good. Imagine mixed mushrooms. Crazy good template to do your own thing.

We didn't make the dough since we can buy a whole wheat pizza dough from a local shop for only $1.50. The stromboli itself was fantastic. The sauce is delicious and so versitle for almost any other dish with a pasta sauce. My husband said it might be the best thing I've ever made, which is saying a lot! We will definately make this again!
