we used the newly popular 'pangaseus' fillets for this recipe. we also used champagne instead of the tequila, and as with any dredge process we let the fish pieces rest in the fridge after we breaded them. we also added some minced ginger and chili powder to the marinade. this was honestly the best fried fish ive ever tasted. didnt even need the tortillas, just some salsa and guacamole dip and we were in heaven.

gave it a 3 cause i didn't really care for it. the fish was perfectly crunchy outside and flaky inside but didn't really have a flavor- i feel that it needed some heat. the aioli sauce tasted way better when i first mixed it. when i let it sit for an hour, i got this unpleasant tequila taste in the background which wasn't as present when i first made it. i didn't do the pico de gallo cause i don't care for that nor did i do the cabbage slaw thing cause raw cabbage and onions don't sound that great to me. if i had to do it over again, i would add cayenne pepper to the fish marinade and let it sit longer. i would also use tarter sauce instead of the aioli.

I made these for my roommates and we LOVED them. The best fish tacos i've ever tasted. They take a little while to make but it was definitely worth it.

The best compliment I get from my family is when no one comments, picks apart, or generally complains about dinner. Usually my teenage boys want to know "whats in it (with suspicious looking eyes... Tonight they saw me cooking fish, but still tried it, and ate every bite without even looking up from their plates! Truley amazing. Guy, you have never steered me wrong, BRAVO!!

I enjoyed these alot- I have to admit, i took a shortcut with the fish- BIG shortcut. But everything else was from scratch like the recipe, and it was excellent. Only took me about 20 minutes to make too!

This recipe is so simple and delicious! I have made it several times. I used Swai/Basa. To make it low-cal I skipped the flour and bread crumbs - just seasoned my fish - sprayed with a little olive oil and threw it in the frying pan - used fat free sour cream and skim milk in the tequila lime aioli. Such a great, easy meal!
