Yummy dish! Loved the tiny bit of heat from the cayenne pepper. Loved the combination of pecans to apples to sweet potato. i'd used agave nectar in cocktails before. Now I love it in this dish! Great as a side dish to go with a pork roast or even as a vegetarian entree. I'm sharing this delicious recipe with others!

I made this recipe with my Christmas dinner and my family was so pleased with it. Never thought of putting sweet potatoes and apple together but it was so delicious. I had everything except the agave nectar and I used vermont maple syrup in it's place and it was delicious and I will make this again. It was super easy and delicious.

This is absolutely the best sweet potato recipe I have ever tasted. The apples are the perfect match with the potatoes and the glaze is beyond outstanding. I will never again make any other sweet potato casserole.

This was a wonderful side for Thanksgiving - everyone loved it. The nice thing is that it can bake while the turkey rests and is carved, which really helps those of us with limited oven space. I couldn't find agave nectar at our store so I substituted 2/3 simple syrup and 1/3 honey. It worked just fine. I used Granny Smith apples, and they provided a nice contrast to the sweet potatoes and glaze. The only challenge with this recipe is that the apples turn black in the leftovers (: Not too appetizing the next day, to be sure. So the simple solution is make sure your guests eat seconds the first time around, and you'll love it!

Ever since I made a sweet potato brulee, everyone asks me to bring the sweet potatoes on Thanksgiving. I always look for a different way to prepare them. And since my family has a really big sweet tooth (and more then a few like Whiskey too this recipe was perfect. I had some JW 101 whiskey on hand, but decided to buy some cheap cinnamon whiskey for the recipe. (No reason to use the good stuff. The really cool part of this recipe was roasting the sweet potatoes. I never knew the skins would come off so easy. The hardest part was coring the apple, but after a slug of the whiskey I didn't really care if they were medallions or chunks. Anyway, the dish was a hit. My sister even came back on Sunday to get some of the leftovers. Thank you for a great recipe!

Is there a 6th star??? This was outrageously, off-the-charts GREAT!!! Wish I'd made twice the recipe. Used Pacific Rose Apples, and followed the recipe to a T -- very different for me -- and it was DELISH! I was a little afraid that the amount of Whiskey might be overpowering but it was perfect. Already had to give out the recipe to 3 people. This is the new standard at our Thanksgiving Table -- Thanks Guy!!!
