To Paul, not that he'll see it: please be sure of the recipe you're rating. There is nothing fried about this one. It is Braised Cabbage, and braising takes time. If you're in that much of a hurry, go watch 30 Minute Meals.
Now, as to this recipe, I agree that molasses doesn't fit, so I omitted it. The apple cider vinegar suggested by another reviewer sounded good, and indeed it was. I love braised red cabbage, and this was spot on.

This was a quick and simple recipe. The only thing was I didn't have any red wine so I substituted apple cider vinegar. Maybe that's what made it too bitter. Additionally, I'm not sure I like the molasses flavor, a little too strong for my taste. I liked the sweetness of the apples against the heat of the red onion. I guess for a quick side, it's satisfactory.

Guy needs to try his food or head back to the fry line, This was awful and a waste of good ingredients. All other recipes for this dish call for an hour or more, "Fry Daddy " gets it done in 20 minutes. Food Network, stop being HIP and keep the real chefs you have had for years.
