This dish was great with a good variety of flavor without having to add extra seasonings. I would definitely recommend serving this dish with a rice pilaf or another dry starch as I found it really needed starch. Bread didn't really do the trick. I used artichoke in water as suggested by another reviewer also.

I wanted to add another review to let the readers know that I still make this! Yummy!! and I have tweaked it a bit from time to time. I still use Soyrizo instead of Chorizo and I added 1 can of diced tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, and 1 pound of Shrimp at the end!! Wonderful!!! Thanks again Guy :

Watched the show and then made this dish. It was GREAT but lacked something; then noticed that in Guy's show he added cumin, which did not make it into the written recipe. I added 1/2 tsp of cuman and a few chili pepper flakes and think that helped...definitely would make again.

I just watched the show and Guy said "artichoke hearts in water" . When I made it before, that's what I used and it was fabulous! The recipe says marinated artichoke hearts. I think that's wrong.

Ok...so, I HATE mushrooms, HATE cooked spinach, not too keen on chick peas and I've never eaten artichoke hearts. Yet, from the first time I saw Guy prepare this, I was in awe. It just looked amazing, and I figured, maybe with all of those combined ingredients, I might actually like it. A year later, I finally decided to give this a try and I really wish I hadn't waited so long. This was so good and probably the only way I'll ever eat spinach or mushrooms. I'll definitely make this again.

I also used Soy Chorizo and thought it was great! It was a meal all by itself. Will probably make it again with regular chorizo, but I think it works great as a vegetarian dish too.

because it has very similiar ingredients to my favorite homemade soup (chorizo, onions, garlic, spinach, cheese, broth and white beans!!

And I am here to say it did not dissapoint, in the slightest.:

Btw....to the reviewer too cowardly to leave their name (aka anonymous
Here is a novel concept, actually TRY the recipe before you come online to JUDGE it!!!
Just because you are too simple minded to be able to grasp the concept of combining these items (or any "odd" foods for that matter and have them coming out well does not equate to a poor rating said offering!?!
Here's an idea, worry about your time as well and quit wasting it coming here trashing a recipe you have never even eaten by a cook who is obviously to talented and evolved for your "basic" palette.
(can you tell that ratings based on completely unfounded, or unrelated, opinions is a pet peeve of mine???LOL

I love spicy, flavorful food... and this was perfect even without adding salt and pepper at the end.

I was very excited to try this recipe; and I like every single ingredient in this. But once done, it was quite disappointing. The flavors did not meld well.

I also used soyrizo and added baby bell mushrooms. I prepared it way same as Guy did on the show, adding to the ingredients rather than draining the soyrizo. We're not meat eaters so, I served this dish with flour tortillas on the side and brown rice.
