Awesome! Watch your oil it can get too hot too fast. It happened to us after first batch so we didn't get to do the second fry in oil. Good tip for next time, have everything prepped (garlic already chopped, etc. so it was ready to quickly smash into plaintains. Also, don't start out with oil too high, it will ruin oil and you will have to start over with fresh, new oil. Awesome taste and the sauce went over as a huge hit with family!!

I love the sweet heat with all kinds of veggies and the plantains were the bomb! Planning my own Island Theme Party and can't wait to serve them. Thanks Guy!!!

This was pretty good, but it certainly did not come close to being as good a companion to tostones as the traditional garlic sauce. I served two sauces and this one was barely touched. I'd make this again, but would have to figure out what it would go good with. One out of the 4 dinner guests liked it. Everyone else had Daisy Martinez' garlic sauce. Sorry Guy.

Just made this for a snack by the pool with my husband! I have always wanted to try cooking with plaintains and thought this recipe was a good initiation. Really simple to prep and fry and absolutely delish - 'specially with a margarita in the other hand! Thanks, Guy!

I made these along with his recipe for Mojito chicken and they were delicious! I had to change the recipe a little as we didn't have horseradish, added brown sugar instead....super yummy! We all picked over our chicken and made a meal out of these because they are SO good!

I fried them in Coconut Oil and the plantains were fantastic. I didn't use or need any sauce and they were the hit of the meal. Great recipe and very easy.

In doing a search on sweet heat, this recipe came up. I'd like to suggest that you try using Hot Squeeze - A sweet heat chipotle sauce in place of the dipping sauce used here. ALOT easier and would taste absolutely fantastic on the plaintains. www.thehotsqueeze.com

Plantains can be a little bland, but this dish is full of flavor. Works very well with Roasted Pork and Soffrito Rice. I doubled the sauce for our family, as it was a good dipping sauce for the pork.

I usually love plantains, but this recipe did not do them justice. Wasn't bad..just okay. Not a lot of flavor from the plantains, mostly just tasted red pepper flakes and garlic. Also, the dipping sauce was a bit too vinegary.
