This was one of my favorite dishes from Johnny Garlics in Santa Rosa, Ca. I moved away 6 years ago, and still CRAVE JG's food. I was so happy to see a lot of the recipes from the restaurant on foodnetwork. I tried this one and it was amazing! I also used only 1 cup of BBQ sauce and cut the cream a little. Topped with tons of fresh roma tomatoes and viola! A top 5 in my house. Thanks Guy!
8/14/12--- This is a favorite in my house. I make lots of the bbq sauce and freeze it. This is a very quick and easy dish to whip up. However, we are watching our weight around here these days so on top of only having this dish once a month or less, I have started using HALF & HALF instead of heavy cream. I use a little pasta water to thicken it, or a little cornstarch slurry if needed (the parm is sometimes enough to thicken it. It is still fantastic! My husband says he even prefers it, because its not so heavy. It is still an indulgence, but cuts out over 1000
    calories for the entire recipe!

Love the flavors here! I kick it down a notch and "only" add the chipotles, no red pepper or cayenne and it's still pretty spicy. Fantastic recipe!

My brother and I made this for the family yesterday. It was the bomb. The chipotle peppers in adobo makes it. I think next time I will do sweet Italian sausage or linquica.

My absolute favorite pasta dish ever! It's definitely "big girl food," so enjoy in moderation.

This is a favorite at our house. When my son visits this is his requested meal. It is spicy and delicious. I have substituted spicy turkey sausage for the beef links and it is equally good.

There is nothing Cajun, or even Louisianian, about hot dogs. And make no mistake, these things are hot dogs. Few people in Louisiana have even heard of hot links.

We made this last night and thought the BBQ sauce was way too sweet and the ratio of BBQ sauce called for seemed way off. We ended up using about a quarter of the finished Chipotle sauce in the dish and that was after we altered the sauce itself by adding more lemon, some shrimp stock and some Asian garlic chili paste because we hated the taste of the sauce as prepared in the recipe (too sweet and commercial tasting with the 1.5 cups of bottled BBQ sauce The finished dish after we fooled around with it, was actually really good, but I have to give this two stars because if we hadn't totally changed the sauce recipe/ratio we would not have liked it AT ALL. Maybe there is a particular BBQ sauce (maybe his own? that GF uses personally for this dish because just using a cup and a half of random bottled commercial stuff did NOT get it! Good idea for a dish, but I think more info is needed in the recipe. A novice cook who doesn't like BBQ sauce would make this and be very unhappy!

Use Kraft brand "Honey Roasted garlic" sauce. I am a competitor on the KCBS BBQ circuit but I usually use store brand BBQ sauce for these type of recipes. I love this recipe.
