I made this with a little twist. A pretzel crust (nice little salt kick and gran marnier whipped cream... so its more like a margarita in a a tart! I also did tartlets instead of a large tart and garnished with the cream and a sugared lime slice. So cute!

Very good and easy to make. My kids (7 and 3.5 year olds even liked it. As I did not have pine nuts on hand, I substitued pecans - worked and tasted great.

This was awesome, and really easy to make. The vanilla wafer and pine nut crust was fabulous. Will definitely be using that for other tarts now. I threw a little extra tequila in for good measure :

Maybe instead of a crust, put them in small plastic cups and use them as shooters at a party. I haven't done this, but I am going to.

I love this tart -- but do not be fooled -- when the oven timer goes off -- take that baby OUT! I left it in for just an extra couple of minutes (with the oven offso I could clear a spot on the counter -- and some SERIOUS cracks developed. It was still delicious and the whipped cream covered all, so no one would know -- but *I* knew and that was enough to teach me for next time.

I used vanilla wafers and almonds -- because I didn't have any pine nuts handy -- and it was delicious -- and there was enough crust mixture for a 9" crust and another 7" crust -- which is now in the freezer for another event.

I used Key lime juice from the grocery and that was just yummy! I have enough Key Lime juice left to do this at least once more!

I was worried that the tequila would be too strong, but it isn't -- it could be reduced if you don't care for tequila, but if you like a margarita now and then -- this really has that margarita flavor. Very refreshing and tangy!

This tart is absolutely delicious! Being a person who doesn't particularly enjoy the taste of alcohol, I only used a couple of tablespoons of tequila. With that slight modification, this dessert is refreshing and tasty! DELICIOUS!

I haven't even tasted this pie yet, but the filling was soo tastey! I can't wait to cut into it. I added 4 egg whites and beat them until very stiff, folded them into the egg yolk mixture and poured into the shell. It was just firm enough to hold up like a meringue. I cooked it just a bit longer and browned the top. I'll post a picture later--if this site allows. Also, renamed it as above...

I made this on a whim, I had no vanilla wafers or no pine nuts, so my crust was actually a graham cracker and cashew crust, which was excellent! i think the saltiness of the cashews with the tart of the limes went great. i did use about half of the tequila that the recipe said. I'd recommend to let it cool off completely, even over night, it was way better that just cooling a few hours.
    Awesome though.
