Just had Greek night with my family and I made these for desert. They were a hit! It took a little while to fry all the batter in the deep fryer but, everyone said they were worth the wait.

I am a fan of guy i think he has a great personality and is a great cook.. i would know i have personally tasted some of his cooking on stage w his at a food show in cleveland! after see this episode i wanted to go to TX soooo bad and thank god i have a friend that lives near niko nikos! she brought me some back and they were great even tho they were a day old!! and this recipe is just as good! If u ask me its not the name that makes the food good its what u put in it and love and heart and soul are what guy outs in his food... so everyone who is slamming guy for what he is "renaming" this recipe get yr head out of your butt, jealousy shows alot about a person. work hard and love what u do and maybe u will make something out of yourself like guy and niko niko's dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mel & null, you need to get over yourselves, you sound way too miserable.
Maybe some honey ballz would help, or try Greek honey balls if that works better for you. Better yet, go to Houston, find Niko Niko's and ease your suffering.

Mel from Seattle, I think YOU are extremely offensive & vulgar. If email doesn't work, have you ever heard about a pen & paper? Thank you Dimitri for sharing your recipe & Guy for showing us a great place to visit and a wonderful dish! Very tasty.

I don't understand what the big deal is and why it is such a big deal. I am Greek I grew up eating Loukoumathes and frankly call them whatevery you wnt as long as you call me to eat them once they are done. Why so sensitive? Why is everything including the slang spelling of "ballz" have to be an argument people? Are we finally to the point where even eating is a form of abuse that we inflict on each other?
Get real!

Now if we could just get the recipe for those awesome Niko Niko's potatoes...(hint hint

Hello I want to introduce my self my name is Dimitri I am the owner of Niko Nikos where this Greek Honey Balls : Loukoumades recipie came from. I want to clear this mess up and first appologize to anyone that I have offended. That was never my intention when i named the recipie. I would also like to appologize to Guy Fieri and his very hard working crew that makes DDD such an amazing show.I wanted to show my gratitude to Guy for what he has done to honor me and my restaurant by electing to showcase us on his show. I wanted to name the Honey Balls after him because he loved them so much. During the shoot of our restaurant the crew had pretty much wraped up all the items that we would feature. The honey balls were not one of those items. When Guy saw and tasted the honey balls he said we have to get this on the show. He truley has the talent to spot what is special when he visits a restaurant. That is why I named the recipie that. Thats it. Again I am truley sorry for those whom I offended and if it will make things better i will ask to have the name changed but i hope everyone can understand that I just wanted to show my gratitude. As far as the Z instead of an S well i thought it looked more unique. Sincerly Dimitri.

Maybe before passing judgment on both Guy and the Food Network, maybe you should contact the restaurant and see how they submitted the recipe to the network.
Truth is, the owner, after cooking the dish with Guy, decided to change the dishes name on his menu. Don't believe me, look him up and ask him. He is in Houston.
And the dish by the way, is fantastic.

I've made these and found them very tasty and yes, I will make them again. They were easy to put together and was a nice surprise for a family that doesn't normally eat sweets. I was surprised by the rating and read the other reviews and all I can say is, OH, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! To be so offended because they, 1 spelled the name wrong, 2 Guy's name is not REALLY Guy's name, and 3 they used a z and not an s, I'm truly at a loss for words. All I can say is the little round man with the weird hair can cook and he's introducing us (travelers to a lot of really neat places when we're on the road. If it tastes good and the show provides entertainment for a while, who cares. Try these ballz (balls or loukomades (loukoumades, whatever, they are tasty.
