This recipe is a big hit with everyone who I cook it for. This year for the holidays, I made a big batch of the rub and put it in individual spice tins that I gave out as holiday gifts. It was something a little bit different plus it's a welcome and healthy change from all the sweets!!

i made this first exactly as the recipe says and it was very good. the next time i made the rubbed salmon but used the mango salsa and the blackened green beans from lyon in the kitchen's herb crusted tuna episode. the geen beans serve as a base for the salmon which goes on top, and in turn is covered by the mango salsa. also cooked the salmon on the grill. it was fantastic. made some for friends and they raved. not only does it look wonderful but every bites a delight. i print out both recipes and give to people i like now. its easily the best thing i have ever cooked.

This was a breeze to put together since I had the spices on hand. Decided to try this in the oven with a cast iron grill pan at 350. The rub did not carmalize on the salmon and the sweetness of the sugar overpowered the chili.

Thank you, Ellie, for providing us with such a delicious, and newer way to make salmon. I made this with the herbed lentils, and everyone cleaned their plates! The spice rub not only smells incredibly good while the salmon is cooking, but it tastes even better. I added more chili powder, and it still was not hot enough for me.. so next time I'd add more. Since the rub is so tasty, I will double it and press it into each side of the salmon, not just the top. The flavor was so full and well-rounded - love this recipe and I am adding it to my recipe binder, forever!

This dish is beautiful! My husband also commented on its good aroma. We loved it and I'm not even much of a fish fan. It will definetely be something we make again.
