Hi all! It's Lisa from the show. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my cookies. It brought tears to my eyes. I like the idea of modifying it to give it a little spicy kick. Let me know how it turns out. For the one who asked about espresso grounds, you can buy them as grounds or I'm sure you can buy espresso beans and grind them yourself -- same thing. And to the one who said not to eat them before bed, that made me laugh -- I have made the same mistake. Thanks again and enjoy!

These re great!!! I used buttery maple syrup and it gave the cookies an even better flavor. These bake up really nice as well! Finally a cookie that doesn't spread.

What is the best combination? Chocolate and Espresso. Put them inside a cookie and you can't ask for anything more!

These are the best cookies ever! The cinnamon with the espresso gives the cookie a unique flavor. Friends keep asking "What's in it? It's very unique but I can't put my finger on it." Another friend said "it's like having your chocolate cookie and coffee together, without needing to drink the coffee." Best of all, I am not much of a cook or baker, but these are very easy to make.

These cookies were fabulous! I actually had maple syrup with a cinnamon stick inside so I didn't add the extra cinnamon. I love adding espresso powder to anything with chocolate (especialy brownies as it intensifies the flavor. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - the perfect cookie IMHO! Someone mentioned chili powder and that might be excellent as well. Thanks for the great recipe as I'll be making these quite often.

I made this cookie for my restaurant and got rave reviews! I wonder what it would taste like if I added a little chipotle or ancho chile powder? Maybe both.... I'll try it next time I bake them.

Very good cookie with a lot of flavors going on. Just don't eat at night because of all the caffeine in it (coffee and chocolate. I couldn't get to sleep last night.
A question: does espresso granules mean just ground espresso beans?
