You can put the wafers between 2 sheets of wax paper or plastic wrap and use s rolling pin to
crush them..it makes clean-up time easier!

This is a favorite among the family. They insist I bring these to Grandpa's house every Christmas Eve.

I make these often. I have tried to make a smaller bite size rum ball, but they don't seem to get very round.
Instead of all having powered sugar coating, I roll some in flaked coconut and others in sprinkles. Mo better, Mo fun.
I also added to 2 tablespoons of coco powder because that is how mom used to make them.
Anyone have some recommendations on how to crumb the vanilla cookies? I have tried the bullet and tried to do it by hand. I hate to drag out the Cuisinart for a few crumbs.

I have been making these for years and everyone loves them. Instead of corn syrup I use good local honey, less refined than corn syrup and a better taste. And I add a little but more rum and roll them in powdered sugar. I use a lemon scooper so they are all the same size. Fun to make, pretty, and they make people smile!

There is just over a quarter cup of rum for the entire recipe; if you sat down and ate the entire batch by yourself you'd probably get a little tipsy (though offset by the amount of food you ingested. But anyone who claims they're getting intoxicated from eating one-two of these things is exaggerating enormously--or is a tee totaler in which case they probably shouldn't be eating the things on principle.
