Yield:
9 cups
Level:
Easy
Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • 1 cup raisins
Directions
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

  • Combine liquids in a large pot and heat but do not boil.

  • Mix the oats, wheat germ, sunflower seeds, walnuts, and almonds in a large bowl and slowly pour the dry mix into the hot liquid. Stir with a large spoon to combine well and then pour the mixture into a large roasting pan and place in the oven. Toast the mixture for 1 hour, stirring often to prevent burning.

  • Remove from the oven and add the raisins. Allow to cool throughly before transferring to an airtight storage container. This will keep for 4 weeks when properly stored.
