I watched Ina make this on her show, and thought wow is that beautiful. So I made this marmalade and it came out just perfect. I don't personally like it but I made it for my grandma (when she was alive and she loved it. Now I make it for my parents who like it in the morning with toast and tea. Thanks Ina for another great recipe

I thought this recipe was fabulous. Paired the marmalade with manchego cheese and fresh figs on a cracker for a terrific appetizer. Read the previous reviews and have two suggestions. First and foremost, use the best oranges you can find. Second, the candy thermometer is your friend. I kept sampling the marmalade at the end when thermometer only read 217 and it was bitter. Kept cooking, and once the thermometer read 220/221, the transformation was magical. Bitterness gone, and it was wonderfully sweet and tart. Great recipe. Thanks Ina!

Thought it was very fragrant! The sweetness was right on, but how to get the bitterness to not be so strong? Any suggestions or is marmalade supposed to have that bit?

This was so easy to make, and delicious. I followed the directions exactly and it turned out perfectly. It wasn't bitter at all and I think this depends on the oranges you use. Thanks Ina!

I always make my own jam with only the orange peel (the orange part only After watching this recipe on food network I thought I would give this a try. I followed it step by step and the result: Horrible bitter orange masked with lots of sugar. It was a waste of time and food. So next time around I chopped the oranges and lemons just like the recipe, boiled them without sugar and rinsed. then let them soak in cold water for a day, changing the water 2 times. the next day I added the sugar and started the cooking process. Boiling the oranges and rinsing is the key to remove bitterness, as we do it for persian orange marmalade recipe. also the color turns out orange not dark red. the sugar could be cut in half and some orange juice could be added at the end to add some fresh sour taste to marmalade.

This seemed like a foolproof way to make the marmalade, very fragrant, but it never congealed into a jelly. Not sure what went wrong

Best tasting orange marmalade. Good to have on hand and take as hostess gift. Try it with brie or in fact any cheese. At the end I used the portable mixer to make the rinds smaller, and had to turn the heat to high in order to reach 220. Definitely will repeat the recipe. Next time it will be with mangoes, the season has just started.

Orange Marmalade is my sweetie's favorite. Now that he's tried this, we won't be buying store bought any more! Great recipe! Absolutely delicious on top of buttered bread. I'll be making it for gifts this year and I have a feeling this will be a 'family' recipe. Thanks Ina!

Ina,
I've always been reluctant to make jellies or jams, or even marmalades... The whole process of canning seemed arduous to me. But.... I DO love orange marmalade (and Good orange marmalade is So darned expensive in the store!
This recipe looked So simple it gave me the courage to try it! Let me just say... I will NEVER buy another jar of store bought marmalade having tasted this!
Thank you Ina... You've made a convert out of me!
