I made this for my large family and they were expecting a traditional apple crisp but when they tried it they were pleasantly surprised by the pears and hint of citrus. It was "too" good; meaning not figure friendly but a nice treat on occasion. YUM!!

I love baking, but never seem to get it right. So easy to make yet so delicious - and I got it right! Just as good with just apples or pears. My favorite dessert to make, by far.

I LOVE apple pie, but after making this I don't think that will do me justice anymore! All the flavors come together beautifully and the crust is AWESOME! One for the recipe box for sure...

What a wonderful dessert. I took this to a neighborhood fish fry directly from the oven. Several wanted to have dessert first. Needless to say, there was none left. Ina is the bomb!!!

I made this a few months ago to try out and it was delicious. I'm making this again tonight for dessert as it's cold and raining and be perfect with a dollop of creamy vanilla icecream.

This is fantastic. The fruit juice and zest put it over the top. The topping was exceptional. It was soft, moist, and flavorful. Usually when I eat apple crisp at a restaurant etc, the topping is dry, hard, and tasteless. I got to the point where I couldn't stand apple crisp because of this.

Tonight I backed it... HEAVENLY! I Pealed 3 Apples and left 3 with pealing. I pealed the pears. When i did the crust i left it a little powdery... Left it in for the whole time. Served it over Vanilla Ice Cream.

I made this crisp with Granny Smith apples and it came out absolutely fabulous. I served it about 1/2 hour out of the oven and my guests raved about it. Very easy and good and made the house smell so homey! Thank you Inga. Your recipes are quite good and easy.

When Ina made this on her show, it looked so simple and delicious...and it is! I made it over the weekend for Mothers Day. I used Fuji apples instead of Macoun (which is what she used on the show. The crust is DELICIOUS and I'm not normally a "crust person". Definitely serve this warm as the recipe suggests; it just adds something to the dish...at room temperature it gets kinda "bleh". Also pairs well with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream...yum!

I made this as dessert for a dinner party and it was so tasty! It was easy to make and everyone loved it. I thought the pears were a really nice twist. You can definitely taste the orange juice, although it is subtle.I did use fuji apples, but otherwise I followed the recipe exactly.
