OMG this is delicious! I made a recipe for Thanksgiving that called for diced pears and apples, and had a ton of diced fruit left over. So I googled recipes and found this one. Ina Garten's recipes are always easy to follow and come out delicious, so I decided to give it a shot. I'm SO GLAD that I did because it was easy and so yummy. The only changes I made were (1 I added Calvados (apple brandy to the fruit mixture, and (2 I added chopped walnuts to the topping mixture at the recommendation of a previous poster. I'm sure it would be equally delicious without those changes, too. This will definitely be my new go-to recipe any time I want to make a dessert that's sure to please.

I must say, Ina has never steered me wrong. She is a little too fond of citrus for our tastes though, so I took others' advice and left out the zest, and cut the lemon juice in half, and I was glad I did. I also used granny smith apples and regular old pears. Even my 7 year old , who hates everything, asked for seconds, even after eating a big dinner. The topping did take a while to brown up, though.

Made again for Thanksgiving, added some crushed walnuts to the topping for additional crunch. Feel free to also increase the topping, but be careful not to double it, or it will take FOREVER to cook.

Love this recipe in fall. Flavors are terrific and the citrus level is just right. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is I find it too sweet...I will cut back on the sugar in the filling next time. This also makes a lot of streusel, so use a baking dish with lots of surface area to spread it out a bit. Thanks, Ina!

Did not enjoy this reciepe despite it being highly recommended from a friend. Did not like the citrus taste. This was more like a crustless crumb apple pie vs a crisp. Oh well, now know to not make again.

Definitely a keeper recipe! I added pecans to the crumble and it was the best crisp I have ever made.

Excellent! Made this last night. Used half Granny Smith and half Gala apples and added good handful of dried cherries. Very good. Will be making this again.

Wow!! great recipe, definitely try this one you won't be disappointed. My family barely got any, I almost ate the whole thing myself. I added cranberries for that sweat/tart contrast and it was fantastic!

Let me start with the fact that I entered this recipe in a family reunion cooking contest and won hands down. Not to mention that even though it makes a lot it was gone in no time. Love the flavor of lemon and orange zest together. I used McIntosh apples since I couldn't find macoun and they worked great. The crumble does double duty for me and I use it for dutch apple pie topping too. It works great!

In my opinion, the orange and lemon zest were a little overwhelming and the topping was a bit too thick. Otherwise the recipe was okay.

I made this for my family and boyfriend a while back and it is all they have been talking about since. If that isn't incentive enough for you to try this recipe out, I don't know what is!
