Loved this recipe. Pears, apples, juice, and zest made a very flavorful combination. I served it warm with vanilla ice cream. Can't wait to make this again.

Very good, and very easy!! It reminds me of desserts that my grandma used to make when I was younger. Best served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a big cup of coffee!

Excellent recipe. Was always not very fond of adding the oats for the topping, but it was fantastic, just the right ratio of butter, sugar, flour and oats. I believe on The Barefoot Contessa I saw her add dried cranberries to the apple pear mixture? Does not call for it in the recipe, so I did anyway and was excellent. Throwing out all other recipe's and this one is the keeper.

I am no pro in the kitchen and this took a little bit of work (in terms of peeling, coring and dicing but it was definitely worth it. My husband has a simple palate (his words and although he appreciated the citrus, he could have done without it. Having said that, both of us found this dish DELICIOUS.
I followed the recipe as written and my husband enjoyed his with a scoop of ice cream whereas I enjoyed mine solo. Usually I too would have some ice cream but it was so good by itself that I felt it didn't need any ice cream.
My sisters took some home the next day when they came over for a visit. They sent me a text message that night sharing how yummy it was...thanks Ina for another great recipe. Yummy!!!!

So good! I only made half the amount and used a little less sugar (based on other reviews of sticky sweet! and it came out perfect! The citrus is a great touch! And I too will increase the amount of crumble topping next time because that's the best part! Very good with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, of course :

This is an awesome crisp recipe! I reduced the sugar in the apple and pear mixture by half and replaced the brown sugar with palm sugar to reduce the GI for the topping, and also replaced half the butter with coconut oil and it turned out awesome! I'm diabetic and try to make every recipe healthier, and this was great. My family loved it and didn't know I used coconut oil or palm sugar, they just thought it was good!

The best crisp recipe I've tried yet - rave reviews from our family gathering! I would only reduce the amount of sugar in the apple/pear mixture - a bit sweet for my taste.

This was a good recipe but I think I would almost halve the amount of sugar in it. WAY too sweet for my taste.
