These were delicious, but I took the advice of others and added a bit more sugar and I think it still could have used a little more. I have decided on the next batch to spread the square with Smuckers Apple Cinnamon Preserves before adding the filling to give it a little more bubbly flavorful filling. A keeper for sure!

Was good and looked beautiful. I took other's advice and made apple chunks smaller. I'd add more sugar next time or add a giant scoop of ice cream on the serving plate. Ice cream is a great fixer :-
This was so easy! I'll experiment more with this and make it great.

I replaced the dried cherries with raisins, and followed the remainder of the recipe exactly. It turned out wonderful. I am so impressed with this recipe, because it's homemade, and just made easier by the puffed pastry. It almost seems like I'm cheating, because it's so easy! Will make a cherry filling next time!

Outstanding and so easy to prepare. I've made this many, many times, and have used multiple fillings, in addition to Ina's original apple and cherry recipe. Perfection everytime. I also dress them up a little with a nice icing drizzled across the top.

The orange was a little overpowering for my taste. The apples could definitely have been diced smaller to better stuff the pastry with more filing.

very easy to make, although next time i think i will omit dried cherries AND add a little more sugar. the results were beautiful--baked exactly 20 minutes--perfect! served them with purchased (sighcaramel sauce for extra sweetening. i couldn't get the puff pastry dough to stretch to 12 x 12, so my square was 11 x 11, but it seemed to work just as well.

Made these for the 2nd time to serve to company. Set them up early in the day , set up on pan covered with plastic wrap and refrigerated. While we were eating dinner I just pulled out the tray and baked off while we were having dinner. HUGE hit. Definitely a keeper

The first time I made them, I couldn't stuff enough apple in them, I didn't have a good technique. The second time I made them, I chopped the apples up a bit more and really stuffed them full. They were beautiful. Love them.

This is definitely one to add to your recipe book. It is easy and delicious. As with other viewers I added a little extra sugar. Otherwise, it was great!

This recipe was very easy. Not sure why it is labled Intermediate. At first I thought 8 was too many and was actually considering cutting it in half. Boy am I glad I didn't. I made them before dinner and my husband couldn't wait for dessert. He just had to sample it. Everyone loved them and they were gone in no time at all. I'm even making them again tonight. Can't wait!
