It was okay. Maybe just because I like the taste of salmon itself, I found the marinade a trifle overpowering. I'll try it again for guests and will probably cut back on the mustard. I added some grated fresh ginger as others had done. I don't cook out of doors and baked my fillet for 12 minutes in a 425 degree oven; the fish itself was wonderful. Not bad, but not my first choice.

Wow. Really not a fan of this marinade. I put it together I, as I was pouring in the olive oil, I suddenly wondered *why* it called for specifically olive oil. I don't think olive oil is a good choice for salmon and I certainly don't think it works well with soy sauce. I can assure you the Japanese don't put olive oil in their traditional dishes -- it simply doesn't work with those flavors. I ended up throwing the marinade out and using something else. I might try this again some other time with a different oil.

Excellent recipe...although second time i reduced soy sauce to 1 1/2 Tbsp and increased garlic to 1 1/2 teasp. and we liked it even more. Also grilled it on a cedar plank to add another layer of deliciousness. Our toddler even eats it!

Outstanding recipe! I marinated the fish for about an hour, because ten minutes is not enought in my opinion. It is simple and delicious. My picky kids loved it too.

This recipe is FANTASTIC!! After reading the recipe and then the reviews, (reading reviews is a MUST, it seemed that the recipe needed something sweet to counter the salt of the soy sauce. I added some Mirin and fancy grade maple syrup, which is a very mild tasting maple syrup -- and "wa-la"...PERFECTION! Also, because there is nothing worse than dry overcooked Salmon, be exact with the cooking time. My piece of Salmon was much smaller than in the recipe so I grilled it on a hot grill 4 minutes on the skin side and 3 minutes on the 2nd side. I eat a lot of Salmon and am always looking for a great, fast and easy recipe. This one definitely fits the bill.

I liked this recipe. I usually just marinate my salmon in soy sauce so I thought the addition of dijon mustard and garlic was a nice twist. I think the key is to use a really good soy sauce then it is not as salty. I cooked my salmon in the oven and it came out great.

This was soooo good, but I too thought the marinade was a little bit too salty. I had cut the recipe into thirds so it would serve 2 and added the juice of one orange to the marinade. I just used all of the marinade and marinated for about 2 hours in the fridge as oppossed to brushing the fish during cooking. Bbq'd and it was absolutely fabulous!!!! Also cut down on the oil a bit (1 TBSPwhich worked out well. This will be an easy summer go to. Even my 6 year old devoured it!
