Easy, yummy, and a nice surprise to mix avocado and grapefruit.

Delicious & super easy! I used less salt than the recipe asked for. (You can always add more salt later but can't take away! Also added finely sliced red onion and some rough chopped cilantro for textural contrast. Will absolutely make this again.

Fabulous salad...such a wonderful combination of flavors. I like to serve this on individual plates, on a bed of mixed baby greens. Sometimes just for a little texture, I sprinkle chopped pistachios on the top.

Ina - you're a genius. It's true - who would have thought of combining avocado with grapefruit? But it works beautifully! The dressing is wonderful and probably has many other applications. I did use all the salt Ina suggested in her recipe and it was not too salty. Trust Ina! This woman tests her recipes over and over. She knows what she is doing!

Note: If you use table salt instead of kosher salt, which is what Ina uses, the dish could be too salty.

I was curious about the combination of flavors....... They are GREAT! Adding this one to my quick, easy, classy, and over the top deliscious file. Can't wait t get more good avocados!

This was delicious. However , I believe there is a typo in the recipe. I used the 1 1/2 tsp of salt as called for and it was way too salty. I tripled the recipe and that was more balanced. I think 1/2 tsp of salt is plenty. I also added just a tad bit of Splenda to it to make it more to my families likes. It is such a nice and unusual presentation. I have also made it with a little chopped romaine on the bottom layer.

I made this recipe as written and it was absolutely delicious. Instead of arranging on the plate as described, I made individual salads by placing the marinated avocado and grapefruit slices on top of a mesclun mix, then drizzled the dressing on top. LOVE this recipe.

I made this recipe exactly as written - and was a little leary about drizzling the vinaigrette on the grapefruit, but I did - and it was absolutely delicious. It was a very pretty dish too - and everyone went back for "seconds". If you like grapefruit and avocados, you will love this salad.
