Pretty good recipe - I think it all depends on the quality of chicken sausage you're able to find. Next time I think I'll add a little more of the mustard mixture as I didn't feel the mustard flavor was strong enough.

This was a simple recipe and SO delicious! I used a variety of "white" sausages- chicken, spinach and garlic, and beer brats. (The brats won for flavor, hands down The mustard mashed were exceptional, and such a great complement to the sausages. I found the creme fraiche to be somewhat unnecessary- next time I will probably just use a little sour cream. (It was expensive and for me, just not worth it for the flavor. I served with sauteed cabbage and onions with salt and lots of pepper, and some good beer to drink. We will have this again and again, I am sure!

My husband has traveled to England many times with the US Air Force and was skeptical of tonight's menu. He said that bangers and mash are bland. I am so happy that Ina helped me to prove him wrong. He even took the leftovers to work today. This dish is so easy and incredibly tasty! Thanks, Ina!

Made this for dinner tonight after seeing it on Ina's show - if this is what British food is like, it rocks!

Okay, forget the notion that British food is bland and boring, as this recipe is both delicious and packed with flavor. My family fancies ourselves as mashed potato connoisseurs and this mustard version certainly did not disappoint - Wow! I am looking forward to making this easy, hearty recipe again and again.

Classic British fare, made easy by Ina. It's a fun dish to serve and easy enough to make often. Ate this in London years ago, but never ventured a try at home. Simply wonderful!

This is delicious! I'm not a particular fan of mashed potatoes but this recipe that includes the mustards is great. I didn't want to spend the money on creme fraiche so I used a mix of 1/2 cream cheese and 1/2 sour cream to replace - worked great. We only have non fat milk at home so I used that instead of whole - no problem - still rich and creamy. Also used the Adielle's chicken and apple sausages available at Costco - excellent!

Delicious! I made this last night, the first Barefoot Contessa recipe I've tried - I got three of her books in my Christmas stocking. I used chicken sausages - red pepper w/asiago and sweet italian. But the mashed potatoes!! So good. I'm a big potato eater and don't like to mess with them, but I don't think I'll ever have them again without the mustard. I couldn't find creme fraiche, so I substitued sour cream, still delicious. I have a renewed excitement in planning dinner now!

Best mashed potatoes ever! I don't like mustard and made them because my family loves mustard. Something about that mustard makes the potatoes really delicious. I tried various sausages and found the traditional english bangers to work best otherwise a strong sausage mutes the flavor of the potatoes.
