this is the best bbq sauce i ever had. the ingredient list is a little lengthy but simple to make. the second time i made this i actually grated the onion because i do not like large chunks of onion. but don't saute the onion as long as ina says in the recipe. depending on how many people you are cooking for you can get about three meals out of one batch. i tried it this weekend on tyler florence's pulled pork and it was delicious. my husband loves it so much he could eat it with just bread.

Though somewhat ingredient intensive this is the best barbecue saus I have ever made. Have used with chicken, pork chops and pork tenderloin..both on the grill and in the oven...delicious!

I just loved this sauce! I can't imagine ever using sauce from a bottle again. It is so simple to prepare and so delicious! The balance of flavors was just perfect! I will be making this recipe for a crowd of 40 in 2 weeks and I am sure it will be a huge hit!

I LOVE INA - The Barefoot Contessa, there is NOT one show I miss.
She is fabulous in the kitchen and a wonderful hostess.
She keeps it plain and simple and enjoys herself while cooking and entertaining. A key element if a person is going to appreciate the fine art of both.
I doubled this recipe - tried it out on the family - they went wild over it - I then bottled it, attached the recipe along with a basting brush and gave it out as a gift. I have everyone using Ina's Barbecue Sauce.
I personally love the flavors - it's a wonderful mix of Mexican, Chinese, and Texas without that heavy smokey, sweet and overly salted stuff you get in jars.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for Barefoot Contessa!
When is her next book coming out?
Again, there isn't a show I don't miss - I even re-run her episodes - would love to come on her show sometime if ever possible. Would be honored to be an apprentise of her's if she ever offered it. I'd wash and wipe every dirty pot, pan, dish, and utensil she used.
She is very well versed and knowledged in the fine art of cooking and entertaining.
She's a five star lady in anyone's cookbook!
I've tried many of her other recipes as well. Guess I best get busy and rate those as well.
Keep the show on the airways!
Thank you again Ina!
You are "The Best"!
Sincerely,
Cherie
