Made this tonight with Chicken Georgia-great combo. This rice is excellent, not sticky or gummy, loved it.

I did rinse the rice a few times and omitted the parsley. Served with tikka masala, this rices is all I was looking for.
    Wonderful and picture perfect.

I made this rice to go along with grilled tuna & mango salsa. It was delicious, a very versatile rice that can go along with a lot of different things. This can also be made using a rice cooker. First I cooked the onions & butter and coated the rice, then put it in the rice cooker with the correct amount of water, let it cook for 20 minutes, threw in the scallions & parsley and let it sit on warm while I prepared the rest of the meal. It turned out perfectly!

I brought this rice to a potluck and got tons of compliments on it. I couldn't find the Basmati rice so I used a combination of white and brown long grain rice. I'll definitely make this again and can't wait to find the Basmati and try it.

Absolutely excellent. Versatile, can be used with anything from lemon chicken to white fish, to tandoori skewers! It will probably kill you though (calories, not the dieters choice!

I recently bought a 10 lb bag of Tilda Basmati Rice and, using Ina's technique, have made it four times now and gotten raves from everyone who has eaten it! I do use Ghee, which is basically clarified butter. You can buy it at an Indian grocery-that's where I bought the rice.
I have used 4 different onions (shallots, yellow, red, and scallions and both dried and fresh herbs.
This is a fantastic technique. I think the "sitting" time really helps. I have left it for up to 20 minutes while I prepare the rest of the meal, and it still turns out excellently!
    Try it...you'll like it!!

This was my first time making Basmati rice and I am hooked!! It was so simple, but so much better than the usual white rice!! This is the rice that you get with Indian food and I cannot wait to try this out with some chicken curry and naan!! I made this with the other recipes from this episode (Indonesian chicken and roasted carrots and it was a very impressive, yet simple, dinner to serve to my guests!!
