    The cake baked up really moist and flavorful and the frosting was creamy and easy to spread. Barefoot Contessa recipes always come out great!

    Hi Ina...I couldn't wait to try this recipe and I have to tell you this frosting was the best ever...it was like silk on your tongue...I will use it again...the cake it's self was good and my company loved it, but I am a fan of a deep dark chocolate cake...so I will use this frosting on that type of chocolate cake next time....love your show...your fan, Donna

    This cake is super. I am so used to making boxed mixes, that I had almost forgotten how good cakes-from-scratch can be. I used the cup of hot coffee in the batter, but had no coffee powder, so made the frosting as directed, but without the powder. The cake was still just delicious.

    I thought this would be the best cake for my son's 5th birthday. The cake came out perfectly and the frosting was a chocolate lover's dream. My husband and I both had seconds... Unfortunately this was a bit too rich for my 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter. A definite keeper - thank you Ina - but I will stick to serving this one for my adult guests.

    Mercy, this chocolate cake was THAT good. Moist and just enough chocolate to soothe the chocolate lover's soul. I can't say that the frosting was my favorite (too strong of coffee flavor. I will stick with regular chocolate butter cream. This is DEFINITELY a keeper and is now regularly requested by my family.
