    This is absolutely wonderful. I do think it is grown-up fare, though...my kids (6 yrs., 3 yrs. did not like it as much as they like my regular beef stew. Made this for our New Year's Eve dinner and it was a great success!

    this is a great recipe...excellent flavor and easy to make...

    I did find that it took mine a hour and 45 minutes in the oven to be tender, but it was certainly worth it.

    This is one of my favorites of Ina's recipes. I serve it often during the winter months and it's always well received. Am I the only one, though, who has trouble finding frozen pearl onions? I always end up buying fresh, boiling, peeling, etc., because I can't find the frozen in my community.

    The recipie serves three.

    I doubled the recipie thinking that I would have 12 servings(recipie says serves 6 and I had to supplement it. There was not nearly enough to serve 12.
