nothing special! Thought buttermilk would make a difference but did not. Also a bit salty for my taste.

Loved the buttermilk mashed potatoes! I recently saw Ina's show on television for the first time and she made the buttermilk mashed potatoes. I immediately bought three of her cookbooks. Can't wait to try more of her recipes. The potatoes were also a hit with my out of town company and easy to make.

I enjoy food network recipes often, but I felt the need to comment on Ms Ina's "buttermilk mashed potatoes". They are totally inspired! (and I am a Southern cook... simple and perfect. the buttermilk is so clever - my family, friends and I Thank You.

I added a little garlic and fresh chopped parsley. My husband said these were the best mashed potatoes he'd ever had. I will make these for Thanksgiving dinner.

I made these for a side for fried turkey, and wow! What a rich and super delicious accompiment to the turkey. New favorite way to make mashed potatoes!

After watching this, I was excited to try something new to the same old mashed potatoes...
Other than the smooth consistency from using the ricer, we didn't notice any difference than the usual.

I love these potatoes, and so does every member of my family. I did add a bit more milk to get a creamier consistency, but otherwise, Ina's recipe is spot on.

These were just mashed potatoes. I thought the buttermilk would add zing as Ina said on the show, but they were just mashed potatoes.

These are by far the best mashed potatoes I have ever taseted! And so easy to make. Using Yukon Gold potatoes (as Ina did on the show yields smooth, buttery tasting potatoes with a beautiful golden color.
