Delicious! I did cut the amount of kosher salt in half and it was, for me, the perfect amount. Any more and it would have been too salty. This is definitely a keeper recipe.

YES! I will never buy bottle ranch again because this is WAY better!I added dill along with the basil, and used meyer lemons. Regarding all the salt talk, I used a 1/2 teaspoon or less of kosher and it was fine. This would be a great dip for a veggie platter. Both my kids ate their entire salad with dinner tonight......I swear it's this dressing! Ha!

Way to salty. Might be good without as much salt. Served it and thru the rest away.

chickpea thanks for pointing out the difference in respect to Kosher and table salt. I just wanted to note that I did use Kosher salt, and I did find it way too salty even with the Kosher amount. I would still reduce salt amount using Kosher to even 1/4 or 1/2 tsp as per your taste.

This was excellent! Previous reviewers have commented that it is too salty -- note that the recipe calls for kosher salt, which has a much larger grain than table salt. If you are using table salt in a recipe that calls for kosher salt, it's common to halve the amount. Based on reviews, I reduced it even further and used only 1/4 tsp of table salt. This was perfect for me! An excellent zingy dressing!

Amazing! Made this as a dip for one of my parties and now I can't stop! People keep requesting it and can't get enough! I added dill and just added salt and pepper to taste. Perfect! Will be a recipe I use forever! Thanks Ina!

Very good, much better than any bottled ranch I've tried. I will make it again, but with less salt and lemon juice.

Very refreshing. When I made it I didn't have any basil so the next day I went to the store and added it into the leftover dressing and it was perfect. If you don't have buttermilk on hand, add a teaspoon of lemon juice or vinegar to every quarter cup of milk and after 20 minutes it will have curdled and voila! Buttermilk.

Way too salty, and too much basil.
