I made this dish again last night with dinner to welcome my daughter home from college. She LOVED it....of course, next to dorm food, lots of things look good. But I highly recommend this recipe, I loved squash before and this is the best way I have found to make it. Thanks Ina.

I have never made squash at home before - it sounded too intimidating. But I found some fresh pre-sliced butternut squash at the groceryt store so I gave this recipe a try. Absolutely incredible. Soft, gooey, and just the right amount of crust on the outside.

I've made this dish 4-5 times now and it's always a hit...even among people who've commented "add some maple syrup on top" or "i don't like squash" before trying it. Be careful to ensure equally sized portions, and watch carefully -- if left too long, it will become soggy and not crisp up (BUT will still be mighty tasty!

Good and easy. Only difficulty I found was the difference in baking temperatures called for with the squash and the rib roast which was paired with it.

I absolutely love this recipe. It is simple and taste great. the second time I made it I added some walnuts in with the butternut squash and it was scumptious.

What a great and easy way to cook this squash. I had never cooked or eaten it before. It went perfectly with my prime rib roast and creamed spinach. I also had scalloped potatoes, but they really weren't necessary.

I wasn't expecting the squash to soften and fall apart. What a pleasant surprise - it was so creamy and delicious. The method of carmelization with the brown sugar made it taste more like a desert than a healthy side dish. This was our first time to try butternut squash and it won't be our last. Thanks Ina.

I love butternut squash to begin with but I have to say I don't know if I can ever go back to eating it any other way after trying this recipe! The recipe was very easy and I cheated and used the precut squash I purchased in the salad section of the supermarket so it cut down on the prep time.

Loved this squash. Will make it often even through cleaning the baking sheet was horrible even though I had sprayed it with Pam. I don't think foil would work because you would rip it turning the squash.
