Delish! Came out perfect at 325 degrees (due to dark coated 9" pans 46 minutes. I halved the frosting with an extra 2 T cream cheese (tried to save some calories for dinner lol, and it was enough but the sides were slightly thin on frosting. Next time I would make 3/4 of the frosting and it would be the perfect amount. Absolutely a wonderful cake and easy to make! Not one to indulge in on a regular basis due to very high calories and fat, but ooohhh.... sooo... good! :

This is the best cake I have ever made. I made it for my daughter birthday. kids and my mom enjoyed it a lot. We moved back to India. This is a piece of America which we could still enjoy in India. The pineapple is the best part of this recipe. It is pretty easy to make including the frosting. Thanks for the recipe!!!

What an awesomely moist and deliciously flavorful traditional carrot cake. I love carrot cakes and tried many recipes. This recipe is one of the best I have tried. I only used 1/2 of the icing recipe. This recipe is a keeper for sure. I followed the recipe with the exception of using canned pineapple as that was all I had. WOW!!! Keeper!!! Thanks Ina.

AMAZING!! I made this cake for a birthday and it was sooooo good! My very first time making carrot cake and it was a huge success. Can't wait to make it again. I would cut down the oil and sugar a little bit and a 35 minute cooking time was enough and the cake came out perfect and moist! Thanks Ina!!!! Looking forward totrying more of your recipes :-

Amazing! Didn't have round cake pans, I used a rectangle pan, just had to cook it a little longer. Another perfect recipe from Ina, this was my dinner! Will have to have it for breakfast too

As if this carrot cake recipe needs another five star review. I made this cake for a work party and people raved about it. I am asked to make this for every birthday, going away party, potluck, etc. Coworkers have even paid me to make this for small get togethers. They all say it is the best carrot cake they have ever had and I agree. When people ask me for the recipe I tell them it's Ina Garten's and I got it from food network. They still want me to print it for them so I just come to this site.
