Very good. My family loved for holiday dinner before making the rounds to see holiday lights. Tweaked the amount of cheese for next time.I think the ratio is off with the broth and cheese. Lower the chicken broth and add more cheese.. A bit liquidyidy but we loved it. Had a loaf of crusty French bread. Very nice meal. Thanks Ina.

I have been using the recipe for three years. Tweek it a bit with some heavy cream, extra bacon and a touch of cumin. Always serve it in mass quantities at high school now college crew regattas - huge hit with the rowers and parents. Kudos to Ina! Amities Gourmandes, ally's dad

I am in love with Ina Garten's recipes, so it pains me to give this chowder one star. I am a true follower to the letter of recipes and this was no different, so here goes. It tastes like nothing. I hate to eat it because when there is a recipe with this many calories, you want it to be worth it, but this is not worth the calories. When I analyze it, it really doesn't have enough flavors to taste good and I should have known that. I wasn't going to add the cheese, but it tasted even worse without it. Ina has a sophisticated palate, so is it possible that she didn't give us the true recipe? This is in her cookbook and it just is not good. I will keep looking for a corn chowder with some flavor.

My family loves this soup....especially my 33 year old son.
It is really easy and hearty!
I vary the type of cheese that I use, using whatever type I have on hand.
Sometimes, I omit the bacon and it is still delicious.

Another Great Ina Recipe! This is really simple.. I used vegetable broth, fat free 1/2 and 1/2 and no bacon.. It still came out fresh and delicious... I used frozen shoepeg corn and seriously sharp Cabot Cheddar. Thank you Ina for another winner!

Followed recipe exactly. It was tasteless. Had to throw most of it away. Wat a waste of money. I have another corn chowder recipe that is wonderful -- I'll go back to that one.

Fabulous!!! Made this to take to a scout function & everyone loved it!! I even cheated & used frozen hashbrown potatoes. It was wonderful!!!
