Wonderful! I don't understand how anyone could have trouble making this. I served it with a beef stir-fry and rice. It was a real hit with my family. If you follow the directions you cannot go wrong. Thanks Ina.

We liked this recipe for cornbread. I cut the recipe in half, but kept the sugar at 1/4 cup, and used 1 teasp dried dill, and added a seeded, chopped jalapeno. Very good with the short ribs from this same show.

I really love this cornbread! It's more savory than it is sweet, which is why I love it so much (especially if you're going to eat it with honey bbq as we did. If I was going to eat it with something savory, I would add more sugar, and go with just sharp instead of extra sharp cheddar. It's so quick and easy... this one's a keeper, thanks Ina!

I usually enjoy Ina's recipes but this one was just awful. It sounded good and looked good on her show but mine went into the garbage. After taking one bite we couldn't even eat it. All we could taste was flour and it was heavy and dry. I was just upset because of all the money I invested in the ingrediants and it all went in the garbage. I have been cooking for over 45 years and I know how to cook and follow recipes so this is not the case here. I followed it to a tea so this bread just isn't my cup of tea I guess.

I made this last night and the guests loved it! It was moist and flavorful. Who said it was salty? Do you think the person used tablespoons? The white chedder cheese on top gave it a great tan color that looked good on the plate.

I tried this recipe and followed it to the T, even using an expensive piece of Cabot aged cheddar, but this cornbread was very bland. Cornbread is traditionally sweet, but I see that Ina was going for a more savory flavor. I think maybe adding more cheese or even some finely chopped sweet vidalia onion would've rounded out the flavor and still kept the savory flavor she was going for. Most of her recipes are awesome, this one was a loser though.

I did not se Ina prepare this cornbread on this episode. When did she prepare it. I saw her prepare only the short ribs. T.R. made dessert and the other guy purcahsed the wine. Where was the cornbread?

Ina, why is everything you make so amazing? I saw Ina make this on TV and I had to try it! My roommates and I couldn't finish off a whole dish so I brought it into work and everyone was amazed, I wish I could say I made it up but as always I had to say it was Ina's! I had no problems with over salting and even friends who said they didn't like dill enjoyed it. YUMMM

I love this cornbread.. I usually make a more dense and cake like cornbread casserole.. but one day I needed to make a quick cornbread and I happened to have al these ingredients on hand, Its easy and delicious! its moist and yet crumbly. The cheddar is great (make sure to use extra sharp for my flavor and the fresh dill (Ive used dry before too really adds something special Would be great with shredded zucchini or jalapenos for some spice too. Love this recipe! followed it exactly (including letting it stand for 20 mins
