This is my first review!!!! OMG!! This recipe is awesome. Bumped into this by accident and thank you so much. The reviews below are spot on. Do not cook over 325 and make sure you toss and turn the granola every 5-10mins. Put the fruit and the coconut at the last 5 mins. I put too much honey and would recommend keeping it a 1/3 unless you have a real sweet tooth. It really came out great and if it was not for the reviews below I would have burnt my first batch.

Very good. Will definitely make it again. I used maple cinnamon sprinkles instead straight cinnamon. I stirred every 8-10 minutes with total time around 25 minutes.

Easy to make and very tasty. Makes a great gift for the holidays. I gave it four stars because I think the baking time is incorrect. I cooked the first batch for 12.5 min, stirred the cooked for another 12.5, total time of 25 which was stated on the recipe. It overcooked during the last 12.5 minutes. The next batch, I cooked for 10 minutes, stirred, then another 10 and it came out perfect. The granola is perfect alone, on ice-cream, fruit, etc. I will definitely make it again.

This granola is awesome!! Very simple, but flavorful! My family eats this for breakfast as cereal! I have also used dried cranberries in place of the cherries and it is delicious! Great job Ina!

This is a very easy and nutritious snack or cereal. My family loved it. I added walnuts along with the almonds and put several dries fruits in it besides the cherries. Next time I will add the fruits to the mix as it is cooling because berries dry out totally during the cooking time. I plan to make this for people for Christmas and I am now using it as housewarming gifts in my apartment complex. People love it!!

I love Ina's recipes. I've done a lot of them. They usually work perfectly every time but this one is a little dull. It's very good but not outstanding. I did it as follows and for me it's lacking flavor. I tasted it before I baked it and thought it needed salt, so added a touch but it just needs more kick. It could use more salt, honey & oil. Possibly maple syrup or brown sugar. More spices wouldn't hurt either like clove or nutmeg. I had no problems with burning because I stirred it frequently or with the cherries getting tough like other people. The cherries are nice & chewy. As far as I'm concerned the oven temperature is fine if you're paying attention. Towards the end of baking I was stirring every 5 minutes. Good but not my ultimate granola.

Like others, I increased by double the amt of veg oil and honey. Used slivered almonds, toasted in oven along with the granola. I added a few tbs. of chia seeds and wheat germ for good measure. I took the advice about turning oven down to 325, good idea; and I did not take the advice about adding the raisins/cherries at end after it's cooked. The taste of the dried fruit cov'd in the honey while cooking was divine. Another reviewer used "robust" to describe the taste and I agree, such depth of flavor. Adding the shredded coconut toward the end so as to see flecks of white might be good idea, but either way, the coconut tastes good toasty too. I used some unsweetened coconut flakes too, just fine.

This was wonderful! I have to agree don't bake the cherries some do get a little hard. I added 1/2 cup macadamia nuts, a pinch of salt, a little maple syrup, pecans and a bit of vanilla; that's the beauty of this recipe the skies the limit!
