This is a delicious but still simple was to make an even healthier version of chili. I tell everyone I can about it, but when its made at my house its my little secret! Yet another reason to love Barefoot Contessa!

My family loved this recipe, our two year old daughter dubbing it the Birthday chili, in honor of the first time we had it at for her older sister's birthday. The spices add punch and the tiniest bit of heat...perfect. Thank you Ina!

Very easy...I added black beans as other reviewers suggested.

I've been making this for years. It's in the BC 'Parties' book. I usually add some black beans and serve it over rice with the usual chili toppings. I find it serves more than 6 and leftovers are good wrapped in a tortilla and baked.

This chili is fantastic. I did not alter the recipe, but I have served it over rice for a little extra texture. My family loves it and I have made it many times for a group.

I am a vegetarian so I made this with Quorn instead of chicken, and also added some kidney beans and a chiptole pepper in adobo. Good!

I just tried this recipe. I was looking for something different in a chili recipe and this is a hit. I read the recipe and reviews before starting and took the advice of others and substituted the basil for cilantro. I also added a can of rinsed and drained black beans for a more southwestern appeal. The sauce was terrific. It had a great flavor. I will be using this recipe again.

I love watching Ina's show and making some of her wonderful recipes. My husband and I both loved the Chicken Chili. I went one step easier, however, and used a store-bought rotisserie chicken which I cut up for the recipe. I also followed one reviewer's advice to use fresh cilantro instead of the basil since we love it. I'll make this again and again.

I fixed this recipe for my husband and myself last night. It was absolutely wonderful. I added more chili powder as others had mentioned. The sour cream, cheese and chips with the chili really finished it off. I used fritos, which are delicious with any chili.
