INEDIBLE. The breaded chicken turned out beautifully which is why I have given this recipe 2 stars. But the sauce is dreadful - you might as well just squeeze pure lemon juice onto the chicken it is that sour. I had to add loads of chicken stock, extra wine & butter to make the sauce edible - DO NOT MAKE THIS SAUCE !!

DO NOT MAKE THIS DISH! I made this tonight and it was almost un-servable. I didn't have anything else prepared so I had to serve it, otherwise it would have ended up in the trash. I tried to cut the sauce down with extra wine, then extra butter, and then chicken stock and it was still overpowered by lemon. I have always trusted Ina Garten recipes, and was HUGELY let down.

Deliciously moist and tender. Shared with friends who gave it thumbs up. Also prepared the roasted onions and buttermilk mashed potatoes, also excellent.

I made this for my niece's birthday. The chicken came out nice and crispy - used panko for bread crumbs. The sauce was a bit too lemony, so I added a little extra wine. Also added some capers and left out the salt. Really tasty.

Like many other of the reviews, I also thought the sauce was WAY too lemon-y. I had to add some chicken stock to the sauce and then I reduced it down some more to soften the flavor- sauce was then delicious!

Great recipe... BUT to the editors of food network, what about the wine in the sauce ? Did not mention it in the instructions. Check your work

Easy to make. Loved the chicken since it came out pretty crispy. The sauce was good but it didn't wow me. I "listened" to the reviews and used only one lemon and more butter. Will probably add other things to the sauce to make it thicker and better. I was hoping for something more; but after all it's just breaded chicken with an average sauce.

I show today's show and already had chicken breast thawing for dinner. The dish was delish. I used Panko crumbs because I had them on hand and the substitution worked great. I also used the juice of only one lemon but added a teaspoon of capers. This recipe is my next dinner entree. I roasted asparagus along side the chicken as it cooked in the oven. For additional color and texture, I sliced a Campari tomato as another vegetable.

This is not the way to make Chicken Picatta. It should NOT have egg in it. Try the recipe by Giada whatsername. I've made it many times and it's the best.
