Since my son and I both love chicken pot pie, I've always wanted to make but was never brave enough. Well, I got my courage up today and made this one. Just one word:
A-MAZ-ING!!!
I did tweak the recipe a little though... okay, a lot. I added four cubed potatoes to the butter to saute along with the onions; I increased the chicken stock to 6 cups; I increased the cream to 1 cup; instead of making the homemade crust (something I just can't seem to get right, I used store-bought puff pastry; and I baked it in a 9" x 15" x 3" casserole dish.
All four of us (adults, not children ate two big servings, and there's still half a casserole! It was so scrumptious, and we get to eat it again tomorrow night!!! I will never, ever buy chicken pot pie, and I will definitely be making this again (probably next week. Thank you and kudos to Ina!

I just made this for dinner tonight and it turned out awesome. The crust was perfect. I made three individual pies and one large pie in a casserole dish. I will be making this again for sure!

THIS IS A GREAT RECIPE. EVEN MY 2 YEAR OLD LOVES IT. I USE ALL ORGANIC INGREDIENTS AND I'LL MAKE PIES FOR MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF AND FOR HER I'LL PULSE THE FILLING IN THE FOOD PROCESSOR A FEW TIMES AND SERVE IT TO HER OVER MASHED POTATOES. I ONCE ONLY HAD VEGGIE STOCK ON HAND INSTEAD OF CHICKEN AND IT STILL CAME OUT GREAT. I'LL ALSO USE WHATEVER FROZEN ORGANIC VEGGIES I HAVE IN THE FREEZER TO MAKE IT EVEN EASIER.

Delicious! The only change I would recommend would be the salt content. Chicken broth already has enough salt in it so her 2tsp was too much for me. Next time I either will cut it back to a half tsp or none at all. Other than that it was great. Give it a try :

I made this yesterday and for my father's birthday and it was ever so delightful, but there is enough filling and crust to make about eight individual pot pies. Your a genius Ina :

I usually end up changing a recipe because I didn't have one ingredient or another but this time I followed it to the letter and it was the most delicious pot pie my husband and I ever had. I plan on making it for company very soon.

I've tested this recipe multiple times on family and friends. Every time it is a winner. It's easy and easy to change from chicken to lobster or other interesting meat or fish. You can even just leave out the meaty items and load up on veggies like broccoli and cauliflower. Either way it's so hearty and delicious. Guests love to get their own portion in individual pot pies. The only thing I really do differently when using fish or seafood is substitute some of the chicken stock with clam juice. Yummy! Thanks for the recipe, Ina.

Amazing! I made one big pot pie because I didn't have individual bowls and it turned out great. I was a little worried when I put all the ingredients in the pot because I thought it would be to runny but it thickened up and was really perfect!

If you want to impress guests make this! For those of us that grew up eating frozen pot pies this is beyond amazing. This was one of the first Ina recipies I attempted and my family loved it. Since then I've made if for many others and received great reviews!
