This is a good old fashioned pot pie. I often think Ina's recipes are a little fussy and overly complicated but this one is a winner.

Excellent recipe. I have made it by following the directions completely and also by taking a few shortcuts. If you are in a bit of a hurry, you can substitute frozen pastry sheets for the homemade dough. If you are in a real hurry, you can substitute a rotisserie chicken. The recipe will still turn out tasty.

Excellent! I altered the recipe a little by omitting the small onions and adding cubed baby red potatoes. I also used frozen mixed veggies. In addition, I have a lactose intollerance, so I used lactose free milk instead of heavy cream....Very Very Good! Also be aware it makes a lot! I bought 6 foil bowls and it filled all of them and I had enough left for 2 more bowls! I think it would also be a great recipe to use over biscuits! EXCELLENT RECIPE!!

As always, Ina's recipes are always a crowd pleaser. I even messed up the steps and it still turned out awesome. Some changes I made that I would highly recommend would be the addition of some spices. I put in extra pepper, dried thyme and dill, a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes and extra fresh parsley. I didn't put in the small onions, which I won't forego next time around. I also added corn which was great. I also just used a store bought pie crust and it was perfect. this was wonderful, and I will never be using another pot pie recipe. Thank you, Ina!

Tried this dish for the very first time today for Easter! It was not hard at all to make. Added some chorizo to the chicken and it was delicious!

This is our #1 Family Favorite Recipe. I have been making it for years. It is the best chicken pot pie I've ever tasted. I even personalize each pie with that person's initial made from scratch dough. I'm baking them right now as we speak. The family is hovering around like a pack of wolves. Mangia! Thank you Ina. You Rock!

Great recipe! Easy way to use extra chicken you have in the fridge. Used only 4 cups of chicken stock and didnt use the bouillon cubes. Substituted the small onions for celery and red potatoes, and used only about 1/2 the bag of peas - it was perfect! Baked in a 9x9 casserole dish for 1 hour and turned out beautiful! Will definitely be keeping this recipe!!

this is so good! i can't believe i made chicken pot pie by myself and it's delicious! i think i don't need to go to bob evans anymore. i used homemade chicken stock which i think made a big difference. the only thing is i onlly put half of the salt, and it's already salty enough. so don't put too much salt before you taste.
