I have made this 4 times and am making it today. My wife and I love Ina's potpie. It's the best I've ever made or had at a restaurant. There is some work involved but well worth the effort. The crust is so flaky and with it overlapping the bowl you never run out before you eat all the chicken filling. I know it adds calories but don't substitute the heavy cream for milk. The heavy cream takes the dish from homemade to gourmet.

Yummy and comforting. I replaced the small whole onions with mushrooms and used store-bought pastry puff. I lined my bowls with the dough as well as laying it on top because I love the extra crunch. The recipe makes a lot, too; I halved it, made 3 pies, and still had leftover filling
It has a long prep time so it's not something I'm going to make too often but when I get a craving for chicken pot pie, this will be the way to go.

Excellent! I have made this several times. The last time was just after Christmas. I used turkey instead of chicken and used the leftover gravy in place of some of the stock. It was excellent and froze well for a meal in mid-January.

Delicious! The only frozen onions I could find in the supermarket were pearl onions in a cream sauce, we used those and came out fine. The recipe gives way to much for our small family, so we make the full filling size and freeze half of it. For the dough, I halved the recipe and it came out perfect for 4 small ramekins. When I take the other half of filling from the freezer, all i have to do is heat it up on the stove and again make half the dough recipe!

Excellent! This is without a doubt the best chicken pot pie I've ever had. Though a little long to make (and I've only used boxed chicken stock, I've made it at least 4 times and have loved it each time. Thank you, Ina.

YUMMY! I made this tonight and me and my hubby loved it. Its so wonderfully perfect. For the veggies I boiled tiny pieces of carrots and broccoli and added when it says. mmm.For the chicken I used boneless skinless thighs instead and it was super moist! I followed the directions for the bone in chicken and I kept the oven temp the same. I made a ceasar salad on the side and we drank cinnamon iced tea i made. Everything went perfect together! This'll go in my recipe box for sure.

Made this last night....AMAZING!! I added small florets of broccoli instead of the carrots since I did mixed frozen veggies that included carrots. Also, I did cheat and used puff pastry on top instead of making my own dough, but it still was wonderful!!

I made this last night and it won't be the last time! It is absolutely wonderful. I made the pastry as well and it turned out so well. I actually made the pastry the day before and stored in wrapped in plastic wrap in the fridge. I also cooked the chicken and had that in the fridge as well. When time came to put it together so much of the work was already behind me. I will make this over and over again. My husband was as pleased with it as I was. I can't say just how wonderful that pastry is. It is worth every bit of the work invested in it.
