Excellent! This was my first time making chicken pot pie and it was superb. This is much better than the ones in the restaurant. I added celery and potatoes for more veggies. The pie wasn't too rich and full of flavor and my hubby devoured it. I didn't use the pie crust recipe since I didn't have any shortening, instead I made a butter pie crust which was very rich and crusty. Loved it!

I just made this dish for my husband and I tonight. It was amazing. It took a little time, but (as my husband noted too it was WELL worth the wait. Thank you Ina for making cooking so easy and delicious. Love ya!
The only thing is that it does make at least six individual servings. I used our cute white crate and barrel nice soup bowls. This is a very rich meal, and always fills us up even my 6'6" husband! I suggest freezing two and eating the other for two nights in a row, unless you are feeding more than you and your hubby.

I LOVED this recipe! I made a few adjustments after making it by the recipe. I decided to not use the whole onions, and just used chopped. I also decided to use more chicken. (I actually used a pre-cooked chicken from Costco. Which was soo much easier and more flavorful. I used less peas and added more carrots, also I added mushrooms. I did not use homemade chicken stock, and it came out amazing. This is a great recipe with a huge flavor. I will make this over and over again.

I am exploring new recipes and must say that this is definitely a keeper. I didnt have to change (add/subtract anything! The pies were full of flavor and of restaurant quality. It was my first time making dough as well. I will be using this dough recipe for other things.

This is a great recipe, but I did make some changes just to make it easier on myself and cut out a lot of the prep/cooking time. I used boneless chicken and simply boiled them to ensure that they would not dry out. I also used frozen peas and carrots and skipped the whole onions and just used chopped. I used frozen pie crust instead of making fresh dough and simply unrolled and cut to size. My kids don't like peas and carrots, so I held some of the chicken and gravy out and filled and topped smaller bowls for them. They loved it. I have made this a few times now and it is aways great!

Oh yummm...my husband just made this dish and it is absolutely lovely. He added bell peppers, mushrooms and celery to the filling, and he used the juices of the baked chicken in the broth...awesome!

This recipe needs more details. I think the amount of chicken should be measured by pounds, since breasts vary. I used 4 16oz. oven proof dishes, since there is no mention of size. There was far too much filling leftover for even these large servings. I needed to make additional sauce because the filling was too dry as well. I also added chopped fresh sage and thyme as I felt the filling was too bland with just parsley. I am an experienced cook so I was able to work with the concept, but if you are a beginner and followed this recipe as written you would be disappointed. My end result however was very good.

This is a fantastice homemade recipe. I baked a whole chicken seasoned with just salt. I used carrots, onoins, celery, potatoes, and frozen peas. Fresh thyme and a little rosemary. You have to put a little love into the dish because it takes a long while to finish. So worth all my effort. My first pot pie was a huge hit. Also, going to make stock with the leftover chicken bones for homemade chicken soup. Yet, anouther win.
