This chicken pot pie turned out great! The sauce was absolutely delicious! I am a beginning cook and was very impressed. I actually used chicken breast I had left over, and it turned out wonderfully! I added celery and mushrooms as well. I used Phylo dough for the topping, next time I will definitely use a home made crust! This is delicious. My boyfriend loves chicken pot pie, and he gobbled it up!

This was just awesomwe. I made afew modifications like others, and this is the BEST pot pie I have ever tasted (and liked. I also used a puff pastry sheet. I used a frozen mix of peas, green beans, carrots, potatoes, and onions. I did have one question. I think that this would make a fabulous Chicken and Dumplings recipe if you omit the vegetables and maybe add a little more stock and bring the mixture to a low boil and just drop in some dumplings. If anyone has done this, please share. Again, awesome recipe. My two year old and five year old devoured it, veggies and all.

I made this recipe for my family the other night and they all loved it! I followed the recipe, with the exceptions of I used 1/2 of a vidillia onion (sweet and 1 added diced new potatoes (from a can and left out the pearl onions. It was very good. I would prefer more crust, so I think next time I will use a different crust recipe - although this was very nice.
Thank you for sharing this.

I made this this weekend and tried it with the puff pastry Ina had suggested. It was great but like another had said the cook time was cut in half. Crate & Barrel sells cheap but wonderful soup bowls for this dish which I used for the first time. Also, I can't help it but I find TR so annoying although I know Ina loves him. I wish she'd get another helpless friend.

Can I just tell you? Amazing. I swear, one pot pie should be enough for two separate meals but of course I housed the entire thing in one sitting. It was so amazing. I cheated on the crust and used a ready-to-use Pillsbury crust - if you use a different crust than Ina's recipe just keep an eye on your pot pie b/c mine was golden brown in about 30 minutes (she recommends a 60 minute baking time for her crust. Enjoy this b/c honestly it's the best thing in like, life! You're gonna freak.
