This is a good recipe and like everyone else said - too salty - and generally I don't mind salty. I forgot to adjust the salt as I followed the recipe. I'm not sure if it was because the chicken stock I bought is already salted and homemade stock might not be as salty.
I made the recipe in parts. First I baked chicken tenders for about 25 minutes instead because its what I had on hand. I made the stew, which I added celery to cook with the onions, and skipped the pearl onions. And I blanched the carrots in the boiling chicken stock to save time. Once the stew was done, I put it in the fridge to finish the next day, which was when I made the biscuits. They were super easy and they seemed to turn out well. Not big and fluffy and flaky like store bought, but they were perfect for the stew and tasted great. I think I'd reduce the salt in those too. Overall, super yummy comfort food!

I LOVE this recipe. I have made it several times & it turns out fantastic every time. It's a bit labor intensive but well worth it.

I make this all the time, the whole family loves it. I use half and half to cut out some calories (every little bit helps. When I'm in a hurry, I use a store-bought rotisserie chicken and just bone and dice. Also we love broccoli, so I lightly steam some broccoli and mix it right in. You can halve the biscuit recipe unless your family is big on bread. DELICIOUS!

This is a great recipe and I will absolutely be making it again. It was delicious and wonderful. One thing to note is that while your chicken is cooking in the oven, you should be prepping the carrots and onions and other ingredients. Also, don't start cooking the stock and other things until the chicken has cooled down and you can pull it apart. Once you start the stove top cooking portion it moves pretty quickly and you don't have a lot of time to pull chicken apart.. Finally I followed the advise of another review and made the biscuits a little thicker and that was really delicious. Enjoy this great recipe! You and your family and guests will love it!

This dish was a big hit with my family. It was very flavorful and the individual biscuits on top were a nice touch. Loved it!

Very delicious! I added an extra half cup of pearl onions and a cup of chopped celery. The leftovers microwave well and still taste great. I would suggest rolling out the bisquits a little thicker. Great recipe!

I'm making this dish tonight....for the third time! It's really tasty and the biscuits are perfect with it. The only thing I change is to half the recipes for the two of us and now I use celery in place of the small onions---just like the combination better with it instead of all the onions. My son loves this dish and requests it often! It's a nice, hearty meal for these cool, gray spring days.
Thanks Ina!

I made this for a football party. I doubled the recipe and put it in my electric roaster. I made it the day before, so I wasn't cooking during the party. Instead of putting the biscuits directly in the stew, I had them on the side and guests laddled the stew over the biscuit. Everyone went home with a full and happy tummy.

Talk about comfort food and exceptional flavor. This is a family favorite. Used store bought biscuits becuase they are better than what I can make. Recipe for the biscuits was easy and they were okay but the store bought were better than what I made. I also made more chicken to make it really hearty, this is a great recipe. Such an Ina Garten fan. :
