This is by far one of Ina's best recipes. I've been making it for years and it is always well received! I, too, also added one cup on canned corn to the stew. I prepare this for families in need or friends who have just welcomed a baby because all they have to do is bake it off! Ina is a goddess!

Wonderful and easy family fare. I caramalized the pearl onions for added depth of favor. Yummy!

This is an awesome and easy recipe. I leave out the pearl onions because it makes it a little too onion-y. But this has been a hit every time I've made it. I served it for a luncheon that I had at my house to serve 30 people and it was a perfect meal to feed a crowd! You will not be disappointed!!

This meal has a wonderful blend of flavors and is relatively easy to put together. My kids ignored the onions, but loved the rest.

Made this for dinner last night, followed the recipe exactly and it turned out perfect. The sauce thickened very nicely and the biscuits were wonderful! I will definitely make this again!!

This is quickly becoming my hubby's favorite Sunday dinner. I did make a couple additions: 1-2 ribs of chopped celery (added w/the onions to saute & 1 1/2 cups of frozen corn. I also sub 2% milk for the heavy cream - still delicious. Ina, you're my hero!

Really delicious comfort food. It takes me much more than the 30 minutes prep time, however.

made this the day before, then made the biscuits the next morning and refrigerated them on a separate plate, so all I had to do when I got home was pop it in the oven as directed...so good! As other readers suggested, I used potato chunks instead of the pearl onions, as none of us like the pearl onions...it turned out fantastic! will also use this as a filling for when I make pot pies as well....try and enjoy! it will make a great winter comfort food!!
